There are no green circle, blue square or black diamond trail markers…no tissue box for your runny nose and nowhere to go buy hot chocolate after a few hours of skiing or snowboarding. Your reward will be untouched powder, desolate mountains and good memories. Welcome to heliskiing in British Columbia.

The roads near the Monashees and Selkirk ranges are pretty lonely with only a few logging trucks every hour or so.

A group of us (I’m the one wearing all black on the left) enjoying some spring mountain conditions with bluebird skies.

Sometimes when you are with multiple groups there will be downtime as you wait for a helicopter to pick you up.

Take a close look – you should see our lines that we laid down on a few runs from that mountain top.
